I'm pretty pathetic, I've only ever fired a .22 rifle.
But I was pretty good with it. I mean, at the time I was like 10, and I haven't done it since.
I would love to though. Nothing like shooting to get you up in the morning.
It was a lot of fun.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -
As I mentioned in another thread; I'm one of those hippies that shoots back.
We own a couple of 20 gauge shotguns, a bolt action 22 that's fairly new, my grandfather's 22 single shot, and a 12 gauge sawed off shotgun. All of them are primarily for hunting although the sawed off is also for home defence. Sounds like a freaken cannon when you shoot it.
Both my wife and I grew up in hunting families and she is a much better shot then me, so I try to keep her happy. :)
To show how things have changed in the last 40 years. That sawed off shotgun was cut down in metal class in high school by my brother in law. The teacher helped him get it right.
In my school the vice principal would offer a box of shells to the guy who got the longest tail feather from a pheasent but didn't miss classes to do it.
Now if you even think gun or talke about them in school the admin freaks out. My son got in a mess because they saw a hatchet in his back seat in the school parking lot. He just forgot to take it out after a weekend camping trip.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -
Haha, I keep a pocketknife on me for self defense sometimes, and someone found out I had it and they confiscated it and a letter was sent home.
So the next day I brought a dagger.
But that's another story. :PPosted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -
The funny thing is that they didn't mention the paintball gun in the trunk when they had him open it. I guess being locked in the trunk was ok. WTFPosted 1 year ago Login to Send PM

Wow! Thats pritty sad they they got him in shit for that but. Guns take a really bad rap because of all these gangester's and all that stuff, its no fare that people like me and you steve are looked down upon because we own firearms all all these things ( in canada) about banning hand guns and semi autos/ fully autos really make me mad. Theres still no way im giving them up once they become out lawed ill become an outlaw. One thing i really dident like is that me and my friend where in pizza place just getting a slice and we where discussing guns and what the next shotgun i was going to buy would be and i guess the floor sweeper lady dident like that , she also saw the 30-06 bullet on my key chain and she told the owner and we boath got kicked out. Come on this was comox British Coloumbia! I wouldent eaven suspect that from a gay bar in Trononto. I was pissed enough that i called the cssa ( canadian shooting sports association) witch is the equivalent to the N.R.A on your side and they couldent do a thing about it. But that really freaked my out but out of politics for now
lol boo the only thing i cant shoot is a .22 rifle if there was any firearm out there that would make me lose a doul it would be a .22 rifle lol i dont know how you could do it ( im not including benchrest shooting in this statment) you should go buy one and get into it , i think ull enjoy it alot
and steve , you gotta work on your shot to get better they your wife , thats why id hate to be married to a marksmen i just couldnt take the fact she could shoot better with a gun then me , talk about being humiliating lol i dont know if you feel that but i would enough about that , what loads do you use in your sawed 12 for home defence ? and i wish schools could be like that now of daysa forty of jd's will do the trickPosted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -
We use just regular field loads of 6 shot. You get a pretty big pattern and from what I've read it won't go through two layers of dry wall. So the kid on the other side of the wall is safe. It will make a pretty nasty wound up close. We use it mostly for rabbit back home. Thick brush so there's not a lot of room to swing a longer barrel around and they tend to be close in shots.
If you can get hold of a copy of the latest Outdoor Life there's an article about the top colleges for sportsmen. Paul Smith's is in there. It's not unusual to see a deer hanging in front of one of the dorms during hunting season. The guns aren't allowed in the dorm and are supposed to be locked up with campus security but I'm sure some are behind the seats of trucks. We are located in the middle of 6 million acres of state park. The school owns 14,000 acres. Most of which is huntable.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -

You must F*cking be joking.
In recent days GWB has said that his office isn't part of the executive branch. He said this because last week Cheney said the same thing. WTF
The Pres and VP aren't part of the executive branch? They ARE the executive branch.
They have been systematically dismantaling our rights, locking people up without a trail, and just plan ignoring the laws of the country.
9/11 was a failure to protect America by them. They had over an hour to get the defences up before the second tower and the Pentagon were hit. If the people in charge just sit on their hands when an attack is under way they are not fit to command.
If your commander just sat there while your base was under attack and told you not to fly, would you think he was doing a great job? No way.
There is a ground swell of people wanting their heads handed to them. Impeachment is just a start.
And if you are Canadian then you are the only one that thinks bush is doing good. I know a lot of Canadians from Snowshoe Racing and every single one can't understand why we've let them off for so long.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -
... John Howard's a poopy face too.
ZOMG arrested.
<3 He made it illegal to publicly make fun of him. Guess how that worked for him.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -
they where trying to do somthing about durghing 9/11 but as you might or might not know its a little hard to get clearence to shoot down a civilian jet with hundreds of people on board. they also dident know if there was going to be a second jet hit the other tower and they cant radomley shoot down jets till they get the right on and who said there was fighters in the relevant area at the time thry might habve had to deploy fighters from navada or california
n.y. state fighters might have been grounded bveen on a mission ect...... and going back still who knew it was a high jacking in the first place it cold have been lots of things as small of a precent as it might have been still you need to dismiss all other possible causes before you can go shooting down civi jets and it was the people working in the world trade centers that would have been the ones that ordered the evacuation not gwb and if hese fighters where in the air on a mission at the time this was happing its eaven way more harder to organize an attack or any sort of fighter presents around the trade centers
so you cant sit there and tell me that the country wasn't trying to do somthing its just extremely hard to organize a fighter presents but i gotta tell you they where trying i was put on standby for a scramble if needed for around 35 hours witch really sucks because you need to stay in the same room you cant leave it and your in full flight suite. but there was stuff happing alot of behind the seens stuff. its not as easy as you think it might be .a forty of jd's will do the trickPosted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -

sorry for the doubble post but i still think he did an OK job , its not exactly an easy job you know theres alot of shit he needs to put up with and second if my base was under attack thats different theres not going to be and civi death's so its to way different scenarios you cant eaven compare them FYI im on base now and i let another person read your post had she laughed so hard she spilt her timmies all over the floor , she was on stand by with me that day. I think people are riding him way too hard , he is the only presadent that had to deal with the stuff he has to deal with so give the guy a margin of error hes not super man you know.a forty of jd's will do the trickPosted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, not the timmies!
(for those that don't know Timmies are really called Tim Bits and are doughnut holes from a, mainly, Canadian chain called Tim Hortons. Mighty tastey. I used to pick up a 20 pack on the way home for myself and coffee for the wife. Most didn't live long enough to get home)
The trouble with GWB is that after he had the world on his side and went after Ben Ladin and the Taliban he squandered all that good will by expanding the war into Iraq. Oh yeah, and why haven't we got Ben Ladin yet? Seems to me that GW said we'd hunt him down no matter where he went.
His trampling of civil liberties in this country alone should get him kicked out of office. Not to mention the no warrent wire taps.
I recently heard him compared to Hitler. The difference is that in the beginning Hitler was trying to do some good for the people. Bush is trying to do good for his oil buddies.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -
that is true i dont see the point in invadeing iraq i do how ever support the military in the war and its good the they killed hussein although lots of people would disagree with me but where i think bush went wrong is when he went in without nato to be there with them! was really pissed when he did that.
i want tim bits now, she spilt the coffee all over the floor the doughnuts stayed in the box

I agree that Hussein had to go. No question. But using 9/11 as an excuse and going against the rest of the world was just wrong.
The nearest Tim Hortons is about 80 miles from here. No good dougnuts in the ADK. Just the Dunkin Dougnuts about 25 miles away but that just isn't as good.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -

how do you survive!!!!!! i would go nuts
my theory on the whole reasoning for going into iraq to get saddam is so george can say to his dad ha ha look what i did and you dident do ha ha im better then you , also it is true he was useing 9/11 to cover up the real reason ^^ to invade iraq its still good he got him out but look at that country now compared to how it was when saddam was there lol its a war torn wreck now. It atleast had services back when he was in powera forty of jd's will do the trickPosted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -

What makes you think I'm not nuts? :D
On Iraq; no planning on what to do after. If you ever get a chance to see Rumsfeld's War you'll understand a little. It was on Public Broadcasting and shows up now and then. Rummy had an adgenda to minimize the milatary and depend on advanced weapons to win. Works for a small conflict or surgical strike but you need boots in the dirt to control what you won. Bush has surrounded himself with people like that and it's lead to where we are now.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -
the hole things a fucking mess and thats about it! he went about it all wrong and they should have used more bombs in the first place striking all the seccoudary targets insted of bringing troops in . theres so many other ways that he should have done it the best would have been not to touch it in the first place.
