You ever have one of those theories you'll never be able to prove, and if you try to explain it to someone, you sound kind of idiotic?
Well, here's one of mine: It's a hell of a lot more fun to watch 'good' movies than 'great' ones. How does it make sense that watching GOONIES is time better spent than APOCALYPSE NOW, or finding ROCKY III on TBS is a more fun way to spend an afternoon than seeing GOODFELLAS?
Am I crazy? Or, rather, crazier than has previously been proven? Please let me know. I don't have money for, you know, an actual mental health check.

What is this retorical question day? Of course you are crazy. That's why we love you guys.
But you are right a good movie beats a great movie hands down. The people that decide if a movie is great are looking at the technical aspects. A good movie sucks us into the story and we forget the world outside that story.
For me any Mad Max movie is the ticket for a good afternoon.
Or Young Frankenstein
Or Jeremiah Johnson. That's the one movie that BC (before cable) I'd set my alarm and get up in the middle of the night to watch.
So I guess I'm crazy too.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -
Well, I love both.
I'm a film student, so Panic Room for me was excellent (I loved the camera movement especially)
But the drama student side of me loved the story and acting as well.
That's just an example though.
I decide before I watch a movie whether I'm looking at it from the technical side or storyline.
But if it sucks me in enough I usually forget.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -
yeah, I'm like that too. My favourite movies are all trashy Disney movies and stuff, but I really like technically brilliant movies too. It's like David Lynch vs Steven Spielberg. One is visually amazing but not something you'd watch on an easy afternoon, the other is classic Hollywood.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM

Over the past two days, while sitting in the park welcome center waiting for anybody to show up, I watched Any Given Sunday and Out Cold.
Any Given Sunday had me riveted to my sit. For an Amercian Football movie it was well made. They lit and shot the scenes unbelievably well. Good story too.
Out Cold was just plain stupid fun.Posted 1 year ago Login to Send PM -
